About Chad

A Neighbor, Not a Politician

Rooted in District 6. Committed to its future.

Chad Clark, candidate for Onondaga County Legislature District 6

Chad Clark is the Mayor of the Village of Marcellus, a local small business owner, a husband, and a father of three. He's not a career politician — he's a neighbor who stepped up because he believes community deserves better than empty promises.

Mayor of Marcellus

Chad approaches the office of Mayor by being accessible, answering the phone, returning emails, attending community events, and making himself available seven days a week to the residents he represents. In his first two years as Mayor, Chad helped secure more than $5 million in grant funding to support municipal infrastructure, local nonprofits, and small businesses—bringing outside investment into the community while protecting local taxpayers. Now, Chad is running for the Onondaga County Legislature because he believes every community in District 6 deserves that same level of accessibility and commitment. He believes County government works best when elected officials spend less time behind desks and more time meeting people where they are—at town halls, local businesses, community events, and neighborhood conversations. Whether speaking with fellow elected officials, business owners, first responders, or residents, Chad believes leadership begins with listening.

Small Business Owner

Before entering public office, Chad built a successful career as a small business owner, spending fourteen years managing employees, budgets, customer service, operations, and long-term planning. That experience shaped his belief that government should be efficient, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves. As a small business owner, Chad understands the real-world pressures that families and employers face. He knows that every dollar taxed is a dollar earned, and that government's job is to make life easier — not harder — for the people it serves.

Husband & Father

Chad and his wife are raising their three children right here in District 6. The schools, roads, parks, and public safety of these communities aren't abstract policy issues to him — they're the world his kids grow up in every day.

Community Roots

From Camillus to Marcellus, Skaneateles to Spafford, Chad has spent years showing up — at community events, and one-on-one conversations with residents. He listens before he acts, and he follows through. Residents don't have to schedule appointments weeks in advance or navigate layers of government bureaucracy. They know where to find him. Whether walking Main Street, visiting local businesses, attending community events, or coaching youth baseball, Chad believes leadership happens through everyday conversations.
